Music in the World: History of Music

Music is found in every culture, past and present. All of the people in the world have a form of music.

The earliest forms of music were drums and percussion instruments because of the resources available in that time period. Most of these instruments were made out of wood, rocks, sticks, or from animals.

Music has been apart of this world since the very beginning. People have been turning to music for several different reasons, out of sadness, happiness, anger, joy, and any emotion you can think of. Music can change a person’s whole perspective in life. Certain parts of songs can speak to us in certain ways that nothing else can. It can uplift people and motivate people do to things they have always wanted to do.

Music impacts our society culturally, morally, and emotionally. The music that is currently popular reflects the culture that we are in and it is evident that culture and music flow together. The type and style of music is constantly changing, and this explains why it changes from culture to culture. Music impacts us morally because depending on the type of music that we are listening it exposes us to many different things. It can play a significant role in determining what seems to be right or wrong, okay or not okay, and good or bad. Most of the people that are listening to music look up to the artist singing these songs and they will most likely believe what they are told through the music being shared. Lastly, music affects us emotionally because it usually makes us feel a certain way after listening. Music has the power to change someone’s mood, change the atmosphere, and even change behavior.

Throughout the world music is very powerful in the fact that it can change almost anything with words and a beat.
